Welcome to Station Cottage a holiday cottage in the spectacular Scottish countryside near the sea.

This warm, comfortable cottage is situated within a ten-minute walk of beautiful unspoilt National Trust coastline with crystal clear water and abundant wildlife. The cottage is set in crofting fields and has large front and rear gardens with views of the Cuillins of Skye, the Applecross peninsula and the Isle of Raasay.

The cottage is well equipped with a modern kitchen, dishwasher, microwave oven, TVs, video and washing machine and phone. Wi-Fi, maps, reference books and games are also available.

There are 3 bedrooms, a living room with open fire, a conservatory/dining room and a summerhouse with table tennis table and a fine view. We also welcome pets.

The cottage is close to the small village of Duirinish which is 3 miles from picturesque Plockton, and 4 miles from Kyle of Lochalsh on the west coast of Scotland. It is about 80 miles from Inverness and Fort William. (Both Inverness and Fort William are accessible by train-sleeper service from London, and Inverness also has an airport). The cottage is a good base for visiting the Isle of Skye, Torridon, Kintail and Glenelg and the roads are a delight to drive - traffic lights are almost non existent although you may find your progress slowed on occasion by sheep, highland cattle and deer. There is a spectacular drive over the Bealach nam Ba (see photo) to Applecross. Another great drive is to head up to Sheil Bridge passing Eileen Donan Castle - the one on every Scottish calendar and then climb over the Mam Ratagan pass - fantastic views of the Five Sisters of Kintail. Drive down the pass to the village of Glenelg and take the little car ferry over to Skye.

The surrounding area has many fine walks ranging from gentle strolls along the coastal walk to much more demanding hikes and climbs. There are a variety of boat trips available locally and lovers of seafood will appreciate the local restaurants.
